Backup Essentials – Why, what, and how – Best practices

Digital photographers create massive electronic data loads. A failure of any hardware component can have disastrous effects and cause loss of precious, memorable images. Because failures do occur, photographers need to employ conscientious data backup procedures.

This two-hours class is aimed at photographers of all levels of skill and experience and is applicable to electronic data from any source. The objectives of the class are to review both the types and likelihood of hardware failures, means to prevent data loss, alternative backup solutions, best practices for data backup, and details about what to do when a hardware failure occurs.

The class is open to the public but registration is limited to 30 attendees. The cost for non-members is $25 and for dues-paying TPC members is only $10. Clear learning objectives and printed versions of the presentation are available to all registrants.
