Reclaiming the Night: Preserving the Dark Skies of Jackson Hole, Wyoming

In the fall of 2014, I released my first short film. The subject was on light pollution in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and what the area has to gain by taking its lighting practices more seriously.

Jackson Hole has a light pollution problem. This short film explores the effect that light pollution is having on health, safety, ecosystem side effects, and energy concerns around the area. As one of the major destinations in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, Jackson stands as a leader in sustainability practices, yet could be making a much more noticeable impact in preserving its night skies, while also taking advantage of the marketing potential that the area could benefit from by embracing the view of the stars. – Read more
